Semtech Corporation announced the SC33020H Load Switch platform in a tiny 0.9mm x 0.9mm, 4 bump Chip Scale Package (CSP) with industry leading Ron of just 32mΩ. The SC33020H load switch provides power rail control for up to 2A with reverse current blocking protection for both portable and non-portable devices. Applications are expected to include wearable electronics, action video cameras, smart phones, tablets, HDTVs, set top boxes, and networking devices.

“The SC33020H reverse blocking load switch gives designers effective power rail control and protection and enhances system performance due to the ultra-low 32mΩ Ron,” said Andy Khayat, Senior Director for Consumer Power in Semtech’s Power Management Group. “Circuit designers can now achieve robust designs with extended battery life.”

Key Features of SC33020H include: VIN Range: 1.6V to 5.5V ; IOUT: Up to 2A; Ultra-Low Ron 32mΩ; Reverse Current Blocking in ON or OFF state; 4kV ESD Protection; Chip Scale Package 0.9mm x 0.9mm x 0.60mm, 4-bumps at 0.5mm pitch. The SC33020H is available immediately in production quantities and is priced at $0.38 each in 5,000-piece reels. The ordering codes are SC33020HCSTRT. Evaluation boards are also available.
